Rocky Mountain National Park
Colorado

Trip Planning logo

A very scenic park at a very high elevation. It is a must for those wishing to take pictures, but the elevation can leave you almost breathless.

John's Trip Comments The drive thru this park takes one to a very high elevation and for some it leaves them breathless. Literally, that is and they are reminded of being short of breath and warn one to return if needed. For those that can take the change in pressure, the scenery is beyond compare. From the time you enter until the time you leave this park, there are areas to stop and take pictures of great mountain scenery.
John's Personal Views On the way up we stopped at every scenic turn off and there were many. Even though it was late summer the temperature was cool. The scenery if you like mountains is terrific. This is one trip that you will take the time to stop and experience the views. Took us ( Baseball buddy Larry ) almost half a day to travel 50 miles.
John`s Recollections - 2009

Travelling over and across the rockies will always be a highlight for me. The higher one goes the less vegetation you see and closer to the top I was able to make a snowball even in early September.
