Cape Canaveral

The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) is the East Coast space launch facility of the United States Department of Defense. Located on Cape Canaveral in the State of Florida, it depends on Patrick Air Force Base, home of the 45th Space Wing. CCAFS is adjacent to the John F. Kennedy Space Center.

John's Trip Comments A major highlight was viewing the STS-98 rocket launch to the International Space Station on Feb 7, 2001. For those visiting Florida, try to make this part of your vacation as it truly is a sight to behold. You have to be fortunate to witness as the time of day, weather conditions, and background colors must all be in your favor.
John`s Recollections - 2009

The voices on the video display the emotions felt when this rocket lifted off the space pad. One of our special moments in a lifetime. If in the area, check the launch times and make that special effort to attend.
